Teaching English to children is an enormous market in the TEFL landscape, and one that is very different from teaching adults. This seminar will give an overview of the issues involved and practices useful for teaching children of all different ages ranging from 4 - 18 years old. During your seminar, modules will cover assessing children's development stages and needs, the physical classroom and behavior management in addition to developing age/level appropriate games, activities and teaching techniques.
Course Outline
We have developed the Teaching Kids English course in response to student requests and feedback. Students will attain a new skill set: how to teach English to non-adult learners. These skills will prove invaluable to TEFL Institute students whether they are interested in teaching in Latin America, Asia or Europe.
Each Chicago course is led by two instructors, each of whom has at least a Master's degree and over five years of TEFL teaching experience. Class size is limited to 14 students for optimal learning and interaction.
