Spain Summer English Teaching Program - 2008

Teach in Spain this summer for 4 to 6 weeks at
English language camps for young learners.

Work in overnight away camps in the mountains and country side of beautiful Spain or at day camps in Madrid. Teach English to Spanish children approximately 5 classes a day in a complete English immersion environment. Participate in the camp activities with the students and other camp English teachers. Hike, swim, get away and enjoy all of the fun a summer camp has to offer.

Spain English camp dates:Monday Jun 30 - Friday August 1, 2008.

Duties:You will teach for 2 week camp sessions to children of ages varying from 4-16. 4 week minimum commitment in July and option of an extra 2 weeks of work in August. Classes are taught completely in English. Spanish skills are useful for working with little children but not necessary to teach at the camps.

Camp Matching Day: TEFL Students will interview with a variety of different camps in Madrid on Friday, June 6 and get matched up with a camp job based on each camp's particular staffing needs. Camp jobs are held in a variety of locations - ranging from overnight summer camps in the mountains throughout Spain and day camps in Madrid.

Extra camp dates depending on enrollment of each camp: ** Extra camp dates available (Monday August 4 - Friday Aug 15) depending on the enrollment of each camp: This extra 2 week session is optional and determined at time of interview and enrollment for each camp.

You will work as a volunteer English instructor working mostly in the small villages and towns throughout southern China. Instructors can expect to teach English about 20 to 25 hours each week plus spend 10 to 15 hours on activities outside of the classroom. You will teach middle school students with ages 12 to 18 or adult teachers aged 25 to 35.

As the school year begins to wind down towards the end of June in Madrid, most English teachers start thinking about spending the summer in Spain near a beach or in the mountains, but they also need to have a job and earn money.

For graduates of the TEFL Institute Madrid Course or 120 hour combination course you are given the opportunity to work in a sunny, exciting location of your choice in Spain. Perhaps on an island, the coast, or in a rural area with mountains, rivers and lakes. We offer all TEFL Institute Madrid students who complete the TEFL course by June 30th a choice to interview and work at more than 15 different, fascinating locations:

Summer camp jobs are typically in 2 week periods of time with a minimum of 4 weeks of employment. Some camps will offer a 5th and 6th week depending on enrollment. Summer camps typically start the first week of July. Many camps offer free housing, food and a very generous stipend. Call TEFL Institute to discuss typical compensation.

  • Summer camps are a chance to travel and work around Spain during a festive time of year with sunny skies and warm weather.
