Hungary is home to more than 2,000 castles and mansions, reminders of a history which reads like a medieval legend. Located in central Europe, Hungary provides easy access to countries throughout the continent. Hungary's beautiful, unmarred countryside is populated by warm, hospitable and jovial people.
Budapest is quite rightly known throughout the world for its beauty and culture. Bustling but peaceful, a big yet friendly metropolis, it treasures the old and embraces the new. Here the historic blends with the modern the hills harmonize with the river - the Danube, that is. The wine and cuisine are justifiably world famous, filling and affordable. A huge variety of entertainment is available on a limited budget. There are many interesting places to visit outside the capital, and travelling within the republic is easy and inexpensive. Also, various outdoor activities such as swimming, horseback riding, cycling and hiking can be enjoyed in the largely unspoiled countryside.
