Spend your summer eating fresh croissants, cycling through the French countryside, or just soaking up le soleil with our France Summer Program. Whether you want to improve your French language skills, gain teaching experience or have a taste of what it is like to live abroad-this is the program for you! Choose from our 4-week option or 8-week option. See the program details and eligibility below.
Participants will be placed by our partner organization with French Host Families throughout the country. Host families stays will be at a minimum of 4 weeks and a maximum of 8 weeks. Participants will be required to spend up to 15 hours per week tutoring their host family in conversational English. Participants will be provided with full room and board during their stay. Outside of the 15 hours of tutoring per week, participants are able to enjoy free time at their leisure.
TEFL Certification
Participants are able to complete any TEFL Institute course in order to qualify for participation in the France Summer Program. For Program 1, the chosen course must be completed by May 25, 2012. For Program 2, the chosen course must be completed by June 29, 2012.

TEFL Professional Online: Any course section through March 25, 2012 start date (Program 1) or April 23, 2012 start date (Program 2)
TEFL Paris: Any course section through the April 30, 2012 start date (Program 1) or June 4 start date (Program 2)
TEFL Nice: Any course section through the April 30, 2012 start date (Program 1) or June 4 start date (Program 2)
TEFL Montpellier: Any course section through the April 30, 2012 start date (Program 1) or June 4 start date (Program 2)
TEFL Chicago: Any course section through the April 30, 2012 start date (Program 1) or June 4 start date (Program 2)
TEFL Onsite: Any course section that finishes by May 25, 2012 (Program 1) or June 29, 2012 (Program 2)
TEFL Institute Alumni are eligible to participate in this Summer Program. Send inquiry to Student Services to answer questions and process Alumni Enrollment. Alumni are responsible for all related fees except the course tuition.
Placement
Placement details will be available from the partner organization prior to departure. Placements will be throughout France, with details available from the partner organization prior to departure. Participants will need to be flexible on location, as it is not possible to request a certain area. Placements are made according to vacancies at the time of enrollment.
Housing
Participants will live with French Host Families throughout the country, during which participants will be provided with full room and board throughout their program.
Visa
Participants will be on a tourist visa. No additional visa is necessary.
