Weather in Austria

Austria lies in the cool/temperate climate zone in which humid westerly winds predominate. With over half of the country dominated by the Alps, the alpine climate is the predominant one. In the east-in the Pannonian Plain and along the Danube valley - the climate shows continental features with less rain than the alpine areas. Although Austria is cold in the winter, summer temperatures can be relatively warm-reaching temperatures of around 20-40 degrees Celsius.

Teaching Abroad in Austria Overview:

Austria is located in the heart of central Europe and maintains an old world charm with an architectural heritage that will transport you to a different era. There is a vibrant personality and beauty among the Austrian people that mirrors the landscapes and countryside. Austria has more castles and fortresses than any other country in the world. Most are preserved because the country was not extensively damaged during World War II. If sports is your thing, than strap on your skies and feel the wind in your hair. The Alps boasts world-class ski runs allowing you to glide through some of the most spectacular mountainous regions. Hikers have their pick of numerous mountaineering resorts and the panoramic views are the stuff of legend. You will congratulate yourself after your first day for choosing to work in Austria. With all this at your fingertips, you will forget that Germany, Italy, Switzerland and Hungary are all short train rides away.
