The city of Bangkok is one of the largest cities in the world. The Chao Phraya River, which stretches 372 km (231 mi), is Bangkok's main geographical feature. The Chao Phraya River basin, the area surrounding Bangkok, and the nearby provinces comprise a series of plains and river deltas that lead into the Bay of Bangkok. This gave rise to Bangkok's appellation as the "Venice of the East" due to the number of canals and passages that divide the area into separate patches of land.
There are many reasons that bring visitors to Bangkok: the sumptuous Thai food; the luxury hotels; the stunning temples, and, not too far from the city, access to gorgeous white sand beaches.
The School
The school in Bangkok is located about halfway between Don Muang Airport and the center of the city. Within easy walking distance in any direction from the school are incredibly inexpensive internet cafés and innumerable food shops offering mouthwatering Thai cuisine at extremely low prices.
The six-week TEFL certification course trains and develops participants' skills and confidence to teach conversational English as a foreign or second language to natives of non-English speaking countries. It offers the unique advantage of allowing graduates to discover, in advance, what learning difficulties their students may have and how to address them—regardless of where in the world they are teaching. This class's emphasis is on conducting successful, competent communication within the classroom. In addition, this course qualifies successful participants to teach writing and reading at any level to anyone, anywhere in the world.
The course is very intensive and requires a strong commitment by the student. Students can expect to be in class for about five to six hours a day. The student can also expect to practice teaching for about six hours. Additionally, the student is responsible for homework which is to be completed outside of class. TEFL Institute recommends that trainees have no other personal or professional commitments outside the course during the six weeks of training.

Transportation
Bangkok is serviced by Suvarnabhumi International Airport. You can easily go downtown from the airport by taxi, train, or bus. While airport pickup is not available, transportation in Bangkok is easily accessible and affordable. Your onsite coordinator will provide the address and a map of the school so you can easily arrive.
If participants arrive before the proposed start date, they are advised to book accommodations in a hostel, hotel or guest house. The address and telephone numbers of our Thailand TEFL office will be included the in the final placement details which are provided in the supplied pre-departure booklet.
Climate
Bangkok’s hot and tropical climate prevails year-round. And like most tropical climates, the year is divided into two seasons- wet and dry. In Bangkok the rainy season lasts from about May to September, but really picks up in June. October through until February is probably the best time to visit Bangkok, and the temperatures are not as high as other times of the year. November to February is the driest time in the city and this is also the most popular time to visit.
