Costa Rica enjoys one of the most stable economies and governments in Latin America, and at the heart of this picturesque country is its capital, San Jose. Founded in 1738 by the Spanish, San Jose became capital in 1824 shortly after it gained independence from Spain. Set in the middle of the country, San Jose is only a few hours from Caribbean Sea to the east, and the Pacific Ocean on the west.
With its well-establish system of national parks and protected areas, it’s easy to see why so tourism is Costa Rica’s primary source of income. In fact, with 23.4% of the country’s land area protected by the government, Costa Rica has the largest protected area in the world by percentage of the country’s landmass. Take advantage of the natural splendor by exploring the white-sand beaches and jungles, discovering amazing natural formations, or viewing the country’s incredible biodiversity.
San Jose is the best place to make connections and find work in Costa Rica. Take advantage of the urban locale by going to one of San Jose’s numerous museums, seeing a production at the National Theater, or by visiting a café and enjoying coffee made in the traditional Costa Rican style.
